Artist's Comments

I took this when I was having coffee and saw a guy on the beach -- his shadow completely captured me so I just took the shot quickly.

I've never before, nor since had a case of "perfect time, perfect place", it was pretty much "f5 and be there".

This taught me a lesson that so much is just having your camera at the ready, and keeping your eyes open. If you get the composition right, so much of the hard work is done.

This is a Black and White version of Blue Beach.. At the time I wasn't sure which one I preferred, but I think it became clear after 5 favourites.

Thanks to everyone who has favourited this. Almost 3 years on and I still feel really honoured.

Most of all, thanks to ~pollen42 for suggesting it and `suzi9mm for selecting it.

Tthe amount of space and how it's captured is quite amazing in this piece. Black Beach also holds a strong feeling of the moment in my opinion, but is it happiness, freedom or loneliness? All of them? Black Beach by =teedoubleyou (Suggested by ~pollen42 and Featured by `suzi9mm)

I like the picture.
But I think I like this one better.
The other has just too many bright colours for my taste.
Anyway a great shot.
:icongaspaio:
eu prefiro esta. a tonalidade da outra acaba por torná-la um pouco cansativa. ou agressiva. não sei qual o adjectivo.

If this is right, I'd rather be wrong..
If this is sight, I'd rather be blind..

Ambos funcionam pra mim.. o preto e branco ganha!

Lol, you're advice was listened to and now the Blue has gone to the Scraps, and the Black to the Gallery. Hehe.

Well, i have not seen the other photograph, but guess what, I still think this (black and white) one is better. The sand, shadow, sea and figure create great contrast for a black and white shot. The long shadow tells you that its the end of another perfect day.

Thanks for your comments on my photos mate, keep it going, as u known its good to here.
