Awesome picture, would you mind posting your camera settings when you took it, also briefly run down your development process? I'd like to study it, thx.

Hey, I can't remember my camera settings off-hand, but I'll do my best.

I did 3 bracketed exposures at -0.7, 0 and +0.7 (my alpha only goes as far as that, which is annoying). My aperture was at f22, and exposure was set on Auto for each shot.

Each RAW file was then edited in CS3 and saved as a .dng for use in Photomatix. In Photomatix I combined all 3 exposures and did as much Tone work as I could without making it look over the top and apocalyptic -- it's fairly easy to go ott in Photomatix.

When I was happy with the look and feel, I saved it as a .tiff and brought it back into CS3.
First thing I did was cropping.
I then did some basic levels, curves and colour balance control. Again, I did all this to suit my mood at the time.
Finally I used a few blending modes, e.g. Screen set at very low levels like 15%.

I don't usually go into as much detail when editing my photos, I prefer to simply do basic level and curve adjustment. However, at the moment I'm really finding another creative outlet in photography and enjoying it.

I highly recommend checking out *hougaard -- there is currently a journal on his dA page about post processing. His techniques are pretty interesting, and his final results are stunning.

I hope that was of some help.

Thanks for your comment and your question, it's always good to spread the wealth!
